VALENTINE’S DAY: TIPS FOR STEPMOMS…

If your stepchildren were supposed to bring in 24 valentines for their entire class and they remind you at 9pm the night before, don’t be stuck holding the bag! Pick up some inexpensive valentines ahead of time. You will be glad you did.

Ask your stepchildren now if they are having a Valentine’s Day party at school and if they have signed up to bring anything—you don’t want to be running around scrambling to find the last box of conversation hearts.

A fun activity to do together is crafting DIY Valentien’s Day gifts for their loved ones. Pick up some craft materials from the dollar store so they can create home made gifts for their mother (and hopefully you!)

On Valentine’s Day, make heart shaped waffles (using a cookie cutter). Pour orange juice in champagne glasses and have a toast in pajamas. Include the entire family in the celebration. Present a single stem red rose with a fun bow and sparkly wire valentine rope from the dollar store!

Put a cute note in their lunch bag, and have holiday themed after school snacks. If it is a school day chances are you are running a carpool and driving to activities, so have a little something for all of the kids. Make a special dinner, and for dessert, decorate cookies together.

Save your romantic dinner with your partner for a different night, keep it light and fun for everyone.

Sit and laugh with your partner – enjoy the quality time!
